Moods (14 years old)

By Sara Epstein

They say I have moods,
that I am moody.
Well, actually, I have only three moods —
neutral,
upset,
and very upset.

It’s they that have the moods,
if that’s what you call them —
Changing unpredictably;
one minute cheerful
the next irate,
then so sorry,
so forgiving,
impatient,
forgetful,
ignorant,
ignoring,
uninterested,
busy cooking,
loud,
laughing,
tired,
tapping,
singing,
driving me crazy.
