Poetry | May 2005

maybe sometime snowflakes

By Larry Bauer

                       olivia celebrates
                       maybe sometime
                       snowflakes
                       that fall for the
                       first time on
                       her newlytongue

                       head tilted back
                       with stargaze
                       wonder,
                       eyes wide with
                       amazement as
                       winterwonderflakes
                       fall on rosy cheeks
                       onceandawhile
