Hunting Goldfish

By April Salzano

is nothing like hunting snipe,
though I would if my autistic son
would eat them. These are real. Specific
flavor: extreme cheddar and pretzel
mix-up adventures. In the fishbowl
of five supermarkets, I cast my line,
wallet as live bait, beg clerks to check
the stockroom when I come up
with empty shelves.
