Cetrotide

By Nicole S. Piasecki

Keep cold the loaded syringe
family gun in white box
near egg white cartons
stamped carton contents set to expire

once a needle drawn set in pinched skin
bullet trigger draw into clocked body
disembodied second hands
swab hands sterile at kitchen counter

count to go-time
wait for know-time

loaded leftovers wait
a ladle beside supper sauce.
