Call for Submissions: Writing After Retirement
The editors of this anthology are seeking chapters from retired individuals who have had a successful writing career after a career in a field other than writing.
Topics include:
- Business Aspects of Writing
- Writing as a New Career
- Networking
- Using Life Experience
- Surveys/Interviews on Retired Writers
- Finding Your Niche
- Getting Published
- Following Dreams Put on Hold
- Privacy and Legal Issues
- Working With Editors
- Time Management
This will be a “how-to” for baby boomers who now have time to write.
Chapter should be 3,000 to 4,000 words in length and can be authored by up to three writers. Contributors will receive one complimentary copy per published chapter and a discount on additional copies.
To Submit: Email two chapter topics–each described in two sentences–and a brief bio for each contributor by November 30, 2012 to smallwood (at) tm (dot) net. Please put RETIREMENT/Last Name on the subject line.

This anthology will be published by Scarecrow Press and will be edited by Carol Smallwood and Dr. Christine Redman-Waldeyer. Carol co-edited Women on Poetry: Writing, Revising, Publishing and Teaching; Christine is an assistant professor and coordinator of the Journalism Option Program at Passaic County Community College in Paterson, New Jersey.
