Literary Mama seeks submissions for Father’s Day. “We seek writing that is about fathers from the child’s perspectives; about the relationships between fathers and mothers and husbands and wives; about husbands as fathers; and by self-defined fathers about fathering and mothering (including lesbian or transexual parents who identify as fathers).” See our general submission guidelines and send your entry to lmnonfiction (at) literarymama (dot) com.

Wild Violet is an online literary quarterly which looks to bridge the academic and the popular. They seek all kinds of creative work. See their submission guidelines for more information.

Pilgrimage Magazine seeks creative work for their print quarterly. Topics of two upcoming issues may prove of particular interest to mama writers: “Silence and Sound” and “Sleep.” Check out their guidelines if you have a piece that fits.

Understorey Magazine seeks fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry about motherhood. We define motherhood broadly and welcome diverse voices and perspectives. From Bricolage Magazine: we are “open for submissions for 2014. Guidelines: http://www.bricolagemagazine.com/p/submissions.html. We are particularly keen on fiction, non-fiction, photography and art that is deeply linked to the part of the world you are from, bringing to the fore non-traditional stories and narrative techniques. ” Bricolage usually responds within four weeks and began reading new submissions on January 1st.
