Rachel Federman

Rachel is a freelance nonprofit writer who focuses on minority education. In her first job after college, she wrote constituent letters for Senator Kerry about the Cape Cod National Seashore. After moving to New York City, she started a band that played at CBGB, among other clubs. Rachel wrote the original version of “Aria” in a class at Fordham while completing her MA in English Literature. She has been continually reworking it during the past six years, with tremendous guidance from Felicity and other Literary Mama editors for the past three. Rachel lives in Manhattan with her family.
