Literary Mama is an all-volunteer organization that brings mothers together through literature. Over the years, our staff has included women who are pregnant with their first child, women whose children have all reached adulthood, and women everywhere in between. We seek self-motivated, collegial collaborators who are comfortable communicating online and expanding the reach of our journal’s community. Editorial Assistant for Reviews and Profiles
Our Editorial Assistants proofread and perform final copyedits on our publications, ensuring that our monthly publishing schedule, WordPress functions, and editorial standards are met.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Proficient with Chicago Manual of Style
- Proficient with, or a willingness to learn about, content management systems, group email conversations, and cloud-sharing programs
- Proficient with WordPress
- Works well with a team
- 4 to 6 hours a month, depending on the number of submissions in the department
Literary Mama seeks photography
We always give photo credits and provide a link back to the photographer’s website directly on the post’s page. Literary Mama reaches approximately 40,000 readers per month, and our social media editor promotes each post via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, as a photo contributor, your name will be featured in that month’s newsletter.
