Welcome to 2026: A Reintroduction

With the start of 2026, we wanted to take a moment and reintroduce the Literary Mama Blog team, which consists of myself (Carrie Vittitoe), Femi Lewis, and Christina Francis-Gilbert. 

Each of us came to Literary Mama with different motivations. Whether it was the desire to connect and network with other mama writers or an intention to keep writing more front and center in our lives given the busyness of raising children, we like the flexibility that blog writing for Literary Mama provides us. 

Femi, Christina, and I come with different experiences as writers. New York-based, Femi’s writing has often been focused on small business, while Christina’s writing is influenced by her experiences teaching in international schools across Europe and moving to the US in 2021. I accidentally fell into freelance magazine writing in Kentucky when my youngest child, now 16, was six months old. 

As this new year dawns, our blog team will continue to bring readers updates on writing opportunities both within Literary Mama and beyond. We will offer you reading suggestions, be they intentional reads that challenge your thinking about various topics or books that are simply for fun and enjoyment. We will engage you with prompts that get you writing more in 2026.
