Writing Retreat: Wisconsin

By Blog Editor

Motherhood & Words

Weeklong Retreat
Madeline Island School of the Arts
Madeline Island, Wisconsin
June 17 – 21, 2013

All mothers have stories to tell. Whether we tell these stories is another question. Join Kate Hopper, LM Editor and  author of Use Your Words: A Writing Guide for Mothers and learn how writing about the dark and the humorous sides of motherhood can combat the myths still perpetuated in our society.

In this weeklong workshop, you will spend time discussing how to ground your writing in sensory details, how to craft the people in your life as three-dimensional characters on the page, and how to fit writing into your busy life.

Class time will include lecture, discussion, writing exercises and optional sharing of your work in a supportive community of writers. Kate will be providing individual feedback for each student. Come prepared to immerse yourself in your writing life, with other mothers who write.
