Creative Writing Workshop for Kids with Dianna Hutts Aston

By Amanda Jaros

As a Literary Mama, no doubt you have Literary Kids, right?  Well, if your kids are interested in learning creative writing and you live in the Austin, Texas area, sign them up for Dianna Hutts Aston’s Children’s Creative Writing Workshop!

This workshop will be offered on June 17, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, and is “an opportunity for young writers, ages 8-11, to have a good time while learning simple but important creative writing skills in a safe, intimate and encouraging atmosphere. The focus is on narrative writing, figurative language and story development. The goal is to spark the writer’s imagination, to improve their writing, and to discover that writing is fun.”

Dianna Hutts Aston is an award winning picture book author, with more than a dozen books to her credit, including Dream Something Big, An Egg Is Quiet, A Butterfly Is Patient, and the recent A Rock Is Lively.

Find out more details about Dianna at her website www.diannahaston.com and about the workshop at Children’s Creative Writing Workshop.
