An inn-keeper, a mother,  and a teacher, Lisa Starr, Rhode Island Poet Laureate emeritus, divides her time among a variety of interests, her children, and her passion for poetry.  She is a two-time recipient of the R.I. Fellowship for Poetry. In her capacity as Poet Laureate, Starr generated writing circles among student and elderly communities around the state, as well as in hospitals, homeless shelters, prisons, and agencies for children and adults with lifelong mental and physical disabilities.

Marjory Wentworth’s poems have been nominated for The Pushcart Prize five times. Her books of poetry include Noticing Eden, Despite Gravity, and The Endless Repetition of an Ordinary Miracle and New and Selected Poems. Marjory teaches poetry in The Charleston County Schools Engaging Creative Minds Program and she is on the faculty of the Art Institute of Charleston.  She is the co-founder and President of the Lowcountry Initiative for the Literary Arts.
