November is Picture Book Month

By Blog Editor

2015_November_blogWe’re halfway through the month, but there is still time to celebrate picture books during Picture Book Month! The celebrations are meant to encourage reading and honor the importance of picture books.

The Picture Book Month website is chock full of posts, ideas, and stories of why we love picture books. There are also literacy suggestions for teachers and educators. You can also find links to bloggers who are participating. Every day in November, a picture book champion shares why he/she thinks picture books are important.

Children’s book author, Tara Lazar, at Writing for Kids (While Raising Them), is in the midst of Picture Book Idea Month (PiBoIdMo). PiBoIdMo is a challenge for writers to generate one new idea each day of November for writing their own picture books.

The Children’s Book Council has more information on Picture Book Month.
