Rudri Bhatt Patel, Social Media Editor, published her piece, “What Anna and Elsa taught me about my fear of missing out” in The Washington Post. She also landed her first feature (in print and on the web) in Raising Arizona Kids a piece titled, “Physician moms talk work-life balance and accepting help.”

Maria Scala, Editor-in-Chief, had three of her poems and an essay published in Exploring Voice: Italian Canadian Female Writers, a special edition of Italian Canadiana featuring the fiction, nonfiction, and poetry of 26 Italian Canadian women. She is honored to have her work appear alongside that of so many established and emerging writers who share this rich heritage.

Andrea Lani, Literary Reflections Editor, is pleased to have had several short essays published over the last couple of months: “Advice to Writers from 80s Hair Bands” appeared on Beyond Your Blog, “The Chickens” in Mutha Magazine, “One Cake or Three?” on the Brain, Mother Blog, and “Love Bugs” on Mothers Always Write.

Kate Haas, Creative Nonfiction Editor, published her essay “A Soft Place to Fall” about an incident from the sleep deprived days of early motherhood in Together Magazine. And she published “1001 Stories: Sharing tales of ‘When Mama was Little’ with my son” in The Washington Post.

Amanda Jaros, Blog Editor, was overjoyed to publish her essay “Field Notes on the Cockroach” in Terrain.org. She also published the profile, “A Conversation with Rebecca Barry” here in Literary Mama. And she published an article in Life in the Finger Lakes Magazine titled “The Might of Micro Retail.”

Lisa Katzenberger, Creative Nonfiction and Fiction Editorial Assistant, won the picture book manuscript contest at the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Midwest Regional Conference for SAMANTHA’S SEASIDE SPA. She also had an interview with Richard Russo published in the Chicago Review of Books. And she published an article, “Wrangling Multiples in Chicago” in the Spring 2016 issue of Hey Baby Chicago.

Erin Rodoni, Poetry Editorial Assistant, has had several poems recently published. They include: “Giant Slalom” in Verse Daily, “Little Brother” in Drunken Boat, two poems in Pinwheel, and five poems in Connotation Press.

Rachel Epp Butler, Profiles Editor, traveled to Berlin in April for the opening of an exhibition she curated and an accompanying book publication. “Alice Lex-Nerlinger: Fotomonteurin und Malerin / Photomontage Artist and Painter” is the first-ever retrospective of Lex’s work and the first major publication on her in English.
