Here at Literary Mama, we hope that the stories shared in our publication can connect mothers across different experiences and journeys. Our writers and readers alike bring diverse perspectives that challenge our understanding of motherhood—something our staff would like to foster and explore with you.
We’re excited to introduce Lit Mamas, a new Facebook group for reading and writing mamas. Hopefully, this group can be a safe and lively space to connect with other mothers, share stories, and enjoy community. Literary Mama updates will be shared as well, but we intend for the group to focus on conversations and community-building.
We celebrate the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual processes of becoming a mother through words and images that may be so stark it hurts. We welcome perspectives that challenge us to examine motherhood through a variety of lenses. We’re not afraid of publishing work that crosses boundaries of race, gender, age, or income and encourage comments that build community.

While advertisements and similar posts will be prohibited in the group, we believe in the importance of supporting our fellow writers. With that in mind, we’re designating “First Fridays” for members in the writing field promote their works and/or services to the community.
