Editor in Chief Amanda Jaros’ essay, “The Edge,” was published in the summer 2021 issue of Appalachia, American’s longest running journal of mountaineering and conservation. The essay is about backpacking, mountains, and motherhood.

Co-Reviews Editor Autumn Purdy has an essay in the forthcoming anthology, The Pandemic Midlife Crisis: Gen X Women on the Brink. Edited by Jessica Smock and Stephanie Sprenger of The HerStories Project, the collection will be published later this summer. Her reviews of Mother Mother by Jessica O’Dwyer and What Kind of Woman by Kate Baer, and her profile, A Conversation with Chloe Yelena Miller appeared in Literary Mama. Her interview with Kyle Potvin was featured on the Literary Mama blog as part of the “Where Are They Now?” series. Two of her nature photographs were recently published on The Sunlight Press and one of her poems is featured online in Issue 67 of Haiku Journal.

Senior Editor Christina Consolino’s debut novel, Rewrite the Stars, was published on March 18, 2021. She wrote about aligning her characters and the title of the novel in John Scalzi’s Whatever Blog and interviewed Zibby Owens for a Literary Mama profile.

Co-Reviews Editor Rudri Bhatt Patel’s flash fiction, “Ganesh and Southern Maid Donuts,” appeared in MoonPark Review in the Spring 2021 issue. She also received a Best Small Fictions 2021 nomination for her flash fiction, “The Day Her Husband Died,” in Milk Candy Review. Her conversation with writer Anjali Enjeti, “A South Asian Southerner’s Political Awakening,” appeared in Electric Literature in April 2021. Her micro piece, “Out of Place,” appeared in 101 Words in December 2020. Her article Should your kids go trick-or-treating during the pandemic? Experts share their advice,” was published in-print and online at The Washington Post in October 2020.

Blog Editor Bridget Lillethorup published a creative nonfiction essay, “Chapped Butts and Bicycle Rides” in Essay Daily in May 2021. She published a review of Jeannine Oullette’s nonfiction book, The Part that Burns, in Up the Staircase Quarterly. In December 2020, he nonfiction essay, “Car Keys,” was published on River Teeth‘s “Beautiful Things” column.
