Community News – Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop

Literary Mama is proud to support the Erma Bombeck Writer’s Workshop, which will take place October 20–22, 2022, in Dayton, Ohio. Seats are still available for this in-person workshop, and there’s a virtual option too.
From their website:
“The Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop has been dubbed the ‘Woodstock of Humor.’ Another writer describes it as a ‘utopia’ for writers—one ‘that only appears every other year, out of the mist, on the edge of the Great Miami River in Dayton, Ohio (like Brigadoon).’ “
“The 2022 workshop will feature New York Times‘ bestselling authors, Saturday Night Live legends, Emmy Award winners, Thurber Prize winners, a Moth GrandSLAM winner, the author of the Bible (The New Comedy Bible, that is), screenwriters, and a slew of celebrated comedians and authors. With her special blend of grace and humor, stand-up comedian Leighann Lord will emcee.”
Literary Mama‘s Creative Nonfiction Editorial Assistant, Kristen Mulrooney, won a humor residency sponsored by Bombeck, and Teri Rizvi, a former Literary Mama contributor, is both founder and director of the workshop.
