Thank you to everyone who participated in our first ever #MamaAndWriting week! It was a wonderful week full of word goals, writing prompts, write-ins, and a wrap party. We hope you felt inspired by the opportunity to connect with some other mama writers.
We loved hearing from you as the week progressed. During the first write-in, one of the mama writers commented that she was inspired to see other mother writers on the screen also practicing their craft.
During the second write-in, a couple of people commented on how they got into the flow of writing and didn’t realize the time was flying by. Another person also commented that she hadn’t written in quite some time, and this inspired her to get back into it.
The wrap-up party included a discussion on books about motherhood and sparked an idea to possibly do a book club. The Ask Me Anything (AMA) also provided helpful tips on what editors look for in submissions, as well as a little insight into the volume of submissions for a couple of the departments. Missed the Wrap Party? You can watch the AMA portion here.
Did you have any wins from the week? Meet a word count goal? Write an amazing response to a prompt? Feel amazing for taking a little time to write during the week? Whatever it was, share it with us in the comments or send an email to lmblogeditor (at) literarymama (dot) com.
If you were inspired by one of the #MamaAndWriting prompts last week, we’d love to read your work. Literary Mama is always open for submissions. You can find more information about what we’re looking for and how to submit on our Submissions Page.
