Creative Nonfiction and Blog Editor Crystal Rowe’s short essay and recipe, Gramma’s Swedish Tea Ring, was published in the 2022 Winter Solstice issue of Farmer-ish. She continues to publish her monthly Substack newsletter about food, writing, and motherhood.

Publisher Cindy DiTiberio had a piece reflecting on how the mother figures in classic children’s literature set her up to fail in Mutha Magazine. Titled “When the Icons of Motherhood Fail You,” she examines how Ma Ingalls, Marilla Cuthbert, and Marmee from Little Women presented unsustainable models of self-sacrifice and selflessness.
