Get Posted/Get Published: February 2026

Where will our writing take us this 2026? I’d like to thank fellow Literary Mama Carrie Vittitoe for her reintroduction to our Blog Editorial team last month. I’m happy to be here and am delighted to see that it was a whole year ago when I started with Literary Mama, and wrote my first blog post about frivolity in February 2025.
If you’re looking to submit your writing for publication this early part of the year, below are some options to consider:
- Book of Matches is running its first poetry contest, The Nag Tooth Prize for Poetry. Submissions are free and are being accepted between January 15 through April 18, 2026. One winner will be awarded $100 and publication. Submissions should be sent to bookofmatcheslitmag@gmail.com
- The Paris Review is accepting prose submissions (up to 40 pages) via Submittable starting February 1, 2026, remaining open until the quota is met.
- Yellow Arrow Journal. Creative nonfiction, poetry, and cover art by authors who identify as women. Submissions accepted February 1-28, 2026. Learn more.
- Submit your prose (preferably less than 3,000 words) to The Forge Literary Magazine. Free submissions open on the 1st of each month and close when cap is reached.
- Emerging writers can submit writing to The Masters Review New Voices category, which is open year-round to emerging authors. The Masters Review pays a flat rate of $100 for flash-length stories (1,000 words or less) and $200 for longer stories (up to 7,000 words).
Have a wonderful February and don’t forget to read the current January/February 2026 issue of Literary Mama.
