Eileen Coughlin

Eileen Coughlin’s first published poem, “Unfinished” was printed in 1991 by South Ash Press. The title would later launch her return to poetry. A former vice president in higher education, she retired in order to come face to face with the unfinished business of writing. She completed an MFA degree in creative writing at Pacific University in January of 2021, launching her as either an old face with new lines, or a new face among old lines. She is a single parent of an incredibly talented daughter who also happens to be autistic; their journey together appears in her poetry.
