Danielle Jernigan is a former academic turned doula, writer, and trauma-sensitive book coach who helps Black mothers and women who have experienced complex trauma transform their pain into power through writing and sharing their stories with the world. She studied publishing and creative writing at Drexel University and earned her MS in Medical Science from Indiana University School of Medicine. She’s currently working on an expert-driven self-help book for Black mothers. Her work has appeared in or is forthcoming in NYT Parenting Newsletter, Madame Noire, Nourishing Word, and Your Tango.
